Schools Plus
Schools Plus helps young people to achieve their academic potential by matching them with university student tutors.
Applications re-open in September!

What is Schools Plus?
We place student volunteers in local schools to deliver weekly tutoring sessions to pupils. Our aim is to raise the academic confidence, interest and attainment of the pupils, and tackle educational disadvantage in the process. Each project is specific to the individual needs of the school and pupils involved.
We recruit tutors and provide training and ongoing support throughout.
In 2014-15, 100% of teachers said that their pupils’ interest, confidence and attainment in the subject improved. 97% of tutors said volunteering with Schools Plus enhanced their university experience.
Students / Tutors
The selection process for tutors focuses on finding students with passion, enthusiasm, and commitment. Once you have gone through the selection process you will be matched with a school and subject that suits your interests and availability. No experience tutoring or working with children is required!
Schools Plus has now finished this academic year, but applications will be open again in September!
Have any questions about the application process or need reasonable adjustments made? Please contact access@bristolhub.org. We are inclusive and encouraging of all University of Bristol students who want to volunteer, and welcome BME, LGBT+ and Disabled applicants.
